The Evolution Of the Internet?

What is the Internet? the Internet Stands for Interconnected Networks.

The Internet is  a global system of interconnected networks.  To simply it, think of a room where there are about five to six or more namely: Laptop A, Laptop B, Laptop C Laptop D  etc. laptops in the room.

In order for laptop A to send message to laptop B, or c , there has  to be an established connections between this computers or laptop that will enable them  to communicate with each other. There are several tools that can enable connections of computers within a room as well as other tools that can help in the connection of computers across different room room.

Now Note: the differences, case 1 is Tools that enables the connection of more than one computers with a room and Case 2 is  tools that help the connection of computers across a room.

Furthermore, The Internet can Be described as a network of networks i.e. Network of Case1 above and case 2. Now Recall, that the Internet is a global system of networks, so the internet is not just restricted to the rooms above. Therefore The internet is a network that consist of private, public, business, academic networks etc.

How did evolution of the Internet birth Web3

The creation of internet Birthed websites, Social Media, Internet Apps etc

This websites did not just arrive at what they are today, for Instance when the websites and domain names was first Introduced into the society, it started a single web page where users can just go read a page like online news etc. this was the era of web1, There was no Interactivity on simple web pages, users where not able to comment, signup etc. There was indeed a lot of limitation of the internet product called websites.

Man’s Insatiable desires led to invention of the web 2, which solved all the previous problems faced with web1. It was web2 that gave birth to Facebook, twitter x, etc.

while everyone seem satisficed with web2, why not The big five giant corporations on the Internet are web 2 companies, even though most of are beginning to buy into the new innovation which is still young in some areas of the world especially at the writing of this content.

So what lead to the further Innovation of the Internet? The Answer to that question might seem less to you but it has become worrisome to many as the internet is consumed by  billions of people across the world.

Do you ever wonder that when you sign up websites, social media sites, ecommerce stores  where does your information goes?

Where is it store?

Can it be retrieved by some set of people? if so who?

The answers to this question contributed to what led to further innovation of the Internet.

The web3 deals with decentralization of the Internet using a Technology called Blockchain.

How is Web3 different from Web2

There are many reason why Web3 is different and far more advanced than web2. In other to simplify my Answers I will focus on decentralization of web3 which is one of the main features of web 3 that web2 does not have.

What is Opposite of decentralization? centralization right?  if you agree with me we can say that while web3 is decentralized, with a peer to peer system of data storage, web 2 is strictly centralized which means that data is stored and managed by a central server computer designated for storage of data.

There many disadvantaged of the centralization of data storage which is common with web2, examples are:

your personal data can be monitored, tempered with, harvested or sold without your consent.

Now imagine signing up on a Social media platform, filling on data form ranging from your address, phone numbers, data of birth etc. and your personal data is sold to a third party marketing company. what? This is only common with web2 which is component that makes it different from web3.

Who is expecting web4 already? and What Problem do you think web4 might be addressing.
