To Japa is Now the Prayer and Hopes of every Nigerian Youth with the rate of steady depreciation in Naira value, Unstable Economy, high cost of living, very low availability of Jobs for fresh graduates. Nigerians now believe that the only way to escape the suffering is to travel overseas.
Japa is a Nigerian Slang used to denotes traveling overseas to first tier countries like United states, Canada, Uk, countries in the Europe, Asia etc. Very few Nigerians who successfully travel abroad will delightful share how they made it. but this is not the case of chidinma Blessings a Graduate Of Educational psychology from the University of Port Harcourt who out of excitement took her Facebook page to express her joy and also share useful tips to other meaningful Nigerian’s Hoping to japa some day.

In her words she said ” The mastermind behind our “Japa” plans is my husband. After our wedding, he shared his dream of relocating abroad. He told me that he had prayed to God, asking for the opportunity to move overseas with his family within two years of marriage. I thought it was a brilliant idea but wondered how feasible it would be financially. Still, I believed God would make it happen.
She Went further to explain that the Journey wasn’t an easy one as it requires a lot of money for the processing of document especially the aspect where it required her sending her university transcript to the different university she applied for.
She went further to stress the important for students to graduate 2:1 from a Nigerian University. She stressed her Initial plan was just going to Uk with her family then looking for jobs over there to pay her tuition fees but because she graduated with 2:1 it was easier for her to secure a scholarship which reduced the burden for her and her husband.
Furthermore, she went further to compare the systems in abroad which found better than what is normal in Nigeria. she advised youths to try as much as possible to Japa to a better and functioning environment.
